Tour of Japan 2026On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 2026 edition of the Tour of Japan.With the arrival of the vibrant early summer season, and thanks to the continued support of all stakeholders, the Tour of Japan—one of the principal events of Japan’s “Bicycle Month” in May—celebrates its 28th edition this year. Since the inauguration of its predecessor, the International Cycle Road Race, in 1982, this event marks its 41st edition, reflecting a long-standing tradition supported by numerous organizations, corporate partners, institutions, and local communities.The 2026 race will be contested over eight stages—Sakai, Kyoto, Inabe, Ooshika, Shinshu Iida, Fujisan, Sagamihara, and Tokyo—covering a total distance of 639.1 km. A total of 16 teams, comprising 9 domestic and 7 international teams, and 96 riders, will participate in this year’s competition.Notably, Stage 4 in Ooshika will introduce, for the first time in the history of the event, a Team Time Trial, further enhancing the sporting and tactical diversity of the race.As Japan’s premier eight-day stage race, the Tour of Japan serves as an important platform to showcase the country’s culture, landscapes, and hospitality to a global audience. Featuring top-level riders from Japan and abroad competing on public roads, the event offers spectators a unique opportunity to experience the speed, strategy, and intensity of elite road cycling at close range.We warmly invite fans around the world to follow the race either on-site across all eight stages or via the official live streaming broadcasts.In the context of an increasingly complex global environment, the Organizing Committee, together with each Stage Organizing Committee, remains fully committed to delivering a safe and successful event. In addition, we will continue to promote legacy initiatives such as “TOJ Kids” and cycling education programs at each stage. These efforts aim to raise awareness of the traffic violation notification system (Blue Ticket system), introduced in April this year, while promoting safe cycling practices and contributing to the sustainable development of cycling in Japan.Finally, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to all supporting ministries, organizations, and corporate partners; the host municipalities and related authorities; the Metropolitan Police Department and the Prefectural Police of Osaka, Kyoto, Mie, Nagano, Shizuoka, and Kanagawa; local police stations; the Tokyo Fire Department and municipal fire services; as well as all stakeholders involved. We extend our special thanks to our principal partners—SPEED Channel Co., Ltd., Chari Loto Co., Ltd., and AliExpress—and to all sponsors for their invaluable contributions to the successful staging of this event.Greeting from Representative of Organizers 本年も爽やかな新緑の季節を迎えました。皆様のご支援のおかげで、５月「自転車月間」の中心行事のひとつであるツアー・オブ・ジャパンは、今年28回目の開催を迎えます。 前身の国際サイクルロードレース大会が1982年に始まってから通算41回目の開催となり、これまで長年にわたって多くの団体・企業・組織・地域住民の方々から、本大会に多大なるご支援をいただいてまいりました。 2026年は、堺・京都・いなべ・大鹿・信州飯田・富士山・相模原・東京の全８ステージにおいて、国内９チームに加え、海外チームを７チーム招聘し、合計16チーム・96名の選手が参加し、総走行距離639.1kmで実施いたします。 第４ステージ大鹿は、本大会初となるチームタイムトライアル形式で開催します。 国内最大８日間連戦のステージレースとして、日本の魅力を世界に発信するスポーツイベントであり、国内外トップレベルの選手が公道を走るロードレースで、皆様の目の前を疾走する選手の息遣いや駆け引きなど、迫力あるレースシーンを体感していただけます。 皆様におかれましては、ぜひ選手の力走を８ステージの会場やライブストリーミング配信でご覧いただければ幸いです。 世界情勢が大変厳しい中での開催ではございますが、大会組織委員会および各ステージ実行委員会が一丸となって、TOJが取り組んできた地域貢献活動「TOJ Kids」と各ステージにおける「自転車スクール」も開催し、今年４月から施行された交通反則通告制度（青切符）の周知や我が国における自転車安全利用の啓発と、自転車スポーツのさらなる発展に貢献することを目的として、最善を尽くしてまいります。 最後になりますが、本大会の開催にあたり多大なるご協力をいただきました後援省庁・団体・企業の皆様、開催地の自治体・関係機関と警視庁、大阪府警、京都府警、三重県警、長野県警、静岡県警、神奈川県警、各所轄警察署、東京消防庁、各市町消防本部、各所轄消防署、特別協賛の㈱SPEED チャンネル様、㈱チャリ・ロト様、AliExpress様ならびに協賛各社様、関係各位に厚く御礼申し上げます。AKIO KOIZUMICycle Month Promotion CouncilPresident自転車月間推進協議会0 4会長小泉 昭男主催者代表挨拶 〉〉〉〉〉〉〉〉〉〉〉〉
